ABOUT EDNA M. MORRIS
Welcome to The Edna May Morris Foundation
Our beloved Edna May Morris, affectionately known as Mama, Grandma, Gramps, Grammy, Great Gramps, and Mother Morris, was called to rest on January 17, 2022, surrounded by family who loved her deeply. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, to Ernestina Lawrence, Edna May grew up attending Catholic school, where the sisters and nuns guided her toward a life grounded in faith, discipline, and compassion.
At home, Edna May was the heartbeat of our family. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured her energy into caring for us; always ensuring our needs were met with love and grace. Beyond our home, her generosity touched countless others in our community. Whether through a helping hand, a listening ear, or a prayerful word, Edna shared her spirit freely.
To honor her legacy, the Edna May Morris Foundation was born. We’re dedicated to carrying forward her values of compassion and service, investing in children’s lives through education and support. From providing food and clothing to funding scholarships that cover tuition, books, and uniforms from elementary school through college, our mission is simple: empower futures in her name.
Through our work, Edna continues to guide us. We see her in the ambition of scholarship recipients, in the laughter of children receiving essentials, and in every heart that chooses to join this mission. Will you help us carry her light forward? Your support ensures that Edna's legacy of love, service, and hope continues to grow, one child at a time.
Every gift of time, service, or resources carries forward Mama Edna’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion, helping us uplift children, strengthen families, and empower communities.

At EMMF, your donation directly impacts children and families in need. Every contribution helps us continue Mama Edna’s legacy of compassion by providing essentials such as food, clothing, and educational support.
Here’s how your gift can make a difference:
-
$25 – Provides school books and supplies for a child.
-
$50 – Covers a school uniform and shoes.
-
$100 – Supports tuition assistance for a student.
-
$250 – Helps fund a scholarship for higher education.
-
$500+ – Empowers multiple students and families with food, clothing, and long-term educational support.
No matter the size, your donation becomes part of Mama Edna’s living legacy—lifting up children, strengthening families, and empowering communities.
Donate today, help us create brighter futures in her name and be part of something truly special.

We know that creating lasting impact takes more than donations, it takes community. That’s why we welcome everyone who shares our passion for service to join us in meaningful ways.
One inspiring example is Margaret Morris, Mama Edna’s daughter and a co-founder of the Foundation. Beyond helping to establish the organization, she continues to serve hands-on by packing barrels of food, clothing, and school supplies for families in Jamaica. For her, giving back isn’t just about service, it’s about honoring her mother’s legacy of love. As she beautifully shares:
“When I pack these supplies, I feel my mother’s spirit guiding me. It’s more than charity—it’s family.”
There are many ways you can get involved:
-
Volunteer your time to support initiatives both locally and abroad.
-
Host a fundraiser or drive in your community.
-
Share our story and inspire others to join the mission.
Together, we can carry Mama Edna’s light forward, transforming lives, one act of kindness at a time.

EMMF is dedicated to carrying forward Mama Edna’s legacy of love, faith, and service by uplifting the lives of school-aged children. Our mission is to break down barriers to education by providing tuition support, books, and school uniforms; essentials that give children the confidence and opportunity to thrive.
Through fundraising and community engagement, we not only meet immediate needs but also create a long-term foundation of hope, empowerment, and giving. By investing in education today, we are building brighter futures for tomorrow; one child, one family, and one community at a time.
Empowering children through education, in honor of Mama Edna’s legacy.
